Class and School New

 Wednesday, May 23: Trip to Rays Game Noon-5:00

Thursday, May 24 : Space Kid story due. Details sent home in your child’s binder Thursday, May 17.

Friday, May 25: Field Day. Kindergarten should wear a red shirt and PE shorts.

Please send in any pictures you have taken of the Kindergarten this year. I am working on our Graduation Slide Show.

                                                                

 Starfall: Language Arts/Science/Social Studies

 

The children reviewed the short vowel sounds. The class read the Starfall book Peg and the Box.  I introduced the long-I sound and the story Sky Ride.

We continued with our unit of study about the solar system. This past week we focused on the moon. We made an accordion book to illustrate the poem “The Moon Game”.

The children wrote stories about a robot friend in the writing center. They really have grown in their writing skills.

    

Math

 This past week we began Chapter 14  “Separate to subtract”. It was fun using cereal to model take away stories. It was great to have a treat to eat at the end of the lesson.

 

    Religion

 

 Our lessons focused on Mary. We crowned our classroom statue of Mary and also attended the school wide May Crowning.
